Shocking video has emerged of New Jersey police officers kicking an accident victim who was attempting to roll on the ground to put out flames that were consuming his body on Wednesday.

The violent crash occurred in Jersey City when police, who were in pursuit of a suspect who was attempting to allude them, shot at said suspect, causing him to wreck his vehicle into a utility pole. A second car was struck and burst into flames, setting the driver of that vehicle on fire.

As the innocent victim attempted to exit his vehicle and extinguish the flames that were ravaging his body, he was seen on camera being attacked by police.

Although no charges have been filed against the officers yet, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said they’re still looking into which cops were involved, and took to social media to express his outrage.

“This is unacceptable,” Fulop tweeted. “We’re IDing officers. We’ll pursue termination [and] criminal charges as appropriate.”
Meanwhile, the man the police were actually pursuing faces charges for eluding the police and for aggravated assault.
